The best time to visit Pattaya is from December to April when the temperatures are relatively placid, and the rainfall is meager. The dry weather has brilliant sunshine, and the end of the cyclone season makes the period pleasant and comfortable. The average humidity drops down to the lowest levels of the year. The dry season sees comfortable temperatures at nights that seldom drop below 18.3°C (64.9°F) to 21.1°C (70°F) and warm days.

May to October during the hot and rainy season is usually the worst time to visit Pattaya as the temperatures are high, and the precipitation is moderate with occasional torrential downpours. September and October are the wettest and the most humid months of the year, with the average humidity of 82%. The flat and low-lying regions of Pattaya submerge into the water for long periods. The period is also prone to tropical storms and is, therefore, the worst time to visit Pattaya.

Pattaya encounters weather hazards such as thunderstorms, tropical cyclones, typhoons, and floods chiefly during the rainy season from May to October. Thunderstorms are frequent in the area with lightning and rain. Tropical cyclones sometimes enter the Gulf of Thailand and trouble Pattaya, but most cause devastation in the interior of Thailand rather than the coast.
